Coldbrooke Yoga Studio is located directly in the heart of Scituate Harbor at 105 Front Street (diagonally across the street from Riva's). Coldbrooke Yoga Studio offers a unique and inviting yoga experience for all levels of practicioner. Our studio is NOT a heated studio. That being said - our students can still work up a serious sweat if that is their goal! We try to make many of our classes "All Levels Yoga" so that the teacher has the freedom to assess the various levels of student present in the classroom and THEN create a sequence that is both challening and accessible to everyone in the room. Restorative, Power and YogaCORE classes honor their descriptions more strictly.
NEW STUDENTS
Welcome my friends! When you come to class here arrive in loose, comfortable clothing. You can bring your own mat, rent one of ours or purchase a mat at the studio. You can drop in to any class any time - don't feel like you have to call ahead or sign in online (though those are options if you would like to do so). Please notify your teacher of your level of experience and any injuries you might be working with. Remember to go at your own pace and rest as much as you need to. Yoga was designed over 5,000 years ago to loosen up stuck energy in the body and help people live physically and mentally in the present moment. We achieve this by practicing different "asanas" or "poses" that help the body stretch, strengthen and heal. You are never "done" with yoga - it is always something to be "practiced." So show up, be patient and simply do your best. To this day no one I've met has ever failed at yoga - and it's not going to start here!
EXPERIENCED STUDENTS
We welcome you to enjoy your practice with us in a way that works for you. You are always welcome to take different variations of poses and work your pranayama if you wish to make the class more challenging for yourself. (If it isn't challenging enough already!)
WANT YOUR OWN CLASS?
Maybe you want personal attention - Maybe you are shy and don't want to practice in a group right away - Maybe you and your friends want to build your own class Sundays at noon and you want us to provide the teacher - Whatever your yoga needs, we are here for YOU. Please email us at csny@coldbrooke.com or call 781-545-7788 with questions or for more information.

Cheryl Wheeler has to be seen to be appreciated. Nothing you read and nothing you hear from her albums prepares you for how good a performer she is. You may not be familiar with Cheryl, but you have probably heard her music. She is very respected as a songwriter by her peers, which can be seen by how many of them record her songs. Chery's songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Dan Seals, Peter Paul and Mary, Kenny Loggins, Garth Brooks, Suzy Boggus, Melanie, Bette Midler, Maura O'Connell, Sylvia, Kathy Mattea, and Holly Near. If they think she is great, then you owe it to yourself to learn more if you aren't familiar with her. From her albums you can tell that she is a gifted songwriter with a beautiful voice. From other people's comments about her you can learn that she is a natural story teller with a fantastic sense of humor. But until you see her in person, you never really believe what you've been told about her. Besides, almost half of the songs she does during her shows haven't been recorded! If you have never seen her do a live concert, then by all means do so! I get e-mail from people all the time thanking me for spreading the word about Cheryl. They go to the concert knowing they will enjoy it, and often find it even better than they had thought it would be. If she doesn't ever perform near you, then try to find a copy of her video and see what you are missing. You can find some clips of her on YouTube, but they are usually only the songs, and not the stories. If she ever performs near you, do what you can to attend. If you don't, you will kick yourself later for missing a great show.

Clutch Grabwell's explosive sound and intensity is unlike anything else. Their relentless energy and swagger are the foundation of a raging live show that has gripped crowds from Boston to Los Angeles. Their unparalleled mix of hard rock and pop has earned praise from fans and critics alike. The band features guitarist and leader Mark Campbell, lead vocalist John Boyle, the horn section of Andrew Hickman and Lennie Peterson, and the bass and drums of Jeff Campbell and Tony Dintino. Mark is the award-winning composer and arranger of Clutch Grabwells music and lyrics, and his work has been featured on film, radio and television, including NBC, ESPN and NESN. John's dynamic stage show and powerful vocals have been hailed in the press as everything from "song growler deluxe" to "down-right possessed". The rock-solid rhythm of Mark on guitar, Jeff on bass and Tony on drums drive John's face-first stage act. Andrew on sax and Lennie on trombone are the horn section rounding out the sextet and bringing the full-speed-ahead, straight-out-of-the-gate sensory experience that can only be described as Clutch Grabwell.

Longtime fans of Beth Nielsen Chapman will notice that the black & white portrait on the cover of her new CD, Back To Love, bears a striking resemblance to the artwork on her self-titled 1990 album. Happily, the similarity doesn't end there. Over the course of 11 stunning new compositions, Back To Love brings the acclaimed, Nashville-based singer/songwriter full circle, back to the soul-deep songwriting style that made her famous and provided big hits for herself and covers by an impressive and eclectic group of artists including Faith Hill, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, Neil Diamond, Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris, to name but a few. And while the soaring melodies, bell-clear vocals and heart-penetrating lyrics are reassuringly in place, there's a new depth to the singer and to the songs, reflecting every turn in the tragic-and-triumphant road Nielsen Chapman has traveled. For legions of tried-and-true fans, this new release represents an exuberant return to the style that distinguished some of her best work and produced some of her biggest hits. For newcomers to the magic and the music of Beth Nielsen Chapman, Back To Love is a bright new chapter in her songbook of life's revelations.

Ellis Paul is one of the leading voices in American songwriting. He was a principle leader in the wave of singer/songwriters that emerged from the Boston folk scene, creating a movement that revitalized the national acoustic circuit with an urban, literate, folk pop style that helped renew interest in the genre in the 1990's. His charismatic, personally authentic performance style has influenced a generation of artists away from the artifice of pop, and closer towards the realness of folk. Though he remains among the most pop-friendly of today's singer-songwriters - his songs regularly appear in hit movie and TV soundtracks - he has bridged the gulf between the modern folk sound and the populist traditions of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger more successfully than perhaps any of his songwriting peers. Yet to hear him at this crossroads moment in his career, you would think he was just getting started. For years, he has been among the folk circuit's most popular and dependable headliners, with a mailing list of over 20,000 fiercely loyal fans. He has released 14 CDs, and recently explored new media avenues with a documentary/concert DVD called "3,000 Miles," and "Notes from the Road," a critically acclaimed book of poems and stories.
